Equipment & Prostheses

Lends beds, wheel chairs, walkers, bedside commodes, and shower chairs when needed.

The Pat McNeil Coastal Bend Breast Prosthesis Program
Provides breast prostheses and mastectomy bras to breast cancer patients who need them.

Helps patients in need who lack prescription coverage. Call or apply via website.
Social Security Administration: 1-800-772-1213
- The SSA provides 4 benefit programs:
- Supplemental Security Income, SSI. For aged (65/older), blind or disabled. Eligibility based on income and assets.
- Social Security Disability, SSDI. For disabled who have paid into Social Security a minimum number of quarters (depending on age).
- Social Security for Retirement
- Medicare – note that if you are under age 65, you will currently need to wait 2 years to qualify for Medicare if you are being paid SSDI, unless you have Lou Gehrig’s disease or permanent kidney failure These programs must be applied for through SSA. They may take six months to twelve months before actual payment is received.
